NO AUDIO RECORDED PROGRAMS

I'M HAVING MORE AND MORE ISSUES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO WATCH RECORDED PROGRAMS. WHILE WATCHING RECORDED PROGRAMS THE VIDEO WILL HICUP AND THEN WHEN THE PROGRAM CONTINUES THERE IS NO AUDIO. THIS JUST HAPPENED WHILE TRYING TO WATCH "WASHINGTON' RECORDED FROM HISTORY CHANNEL. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY CHANNEL

Surge Protector or wall plug for cable-box-dvr

Just wondering if it is better to plug my dvr into a surge protector or the wall outlet. Will I not have any issues like the remote delays after pushing buttons when using the dvr for a few hours & the box getting warmer, if I plug into the wall direct, I have it now in the surge.

Contour 2 DVR recordings show on host but no longer show on client boxes, however…

On client boxes I can see the scheduled recordings, record a show that will record and is watchable on the host but none of the clients display any recordings. switch to hdmi port on back of contour box

There's an hdmi port on the back of the contour box. How do you switch to use that port? There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do that. I've gone thru setup and various keys on the remote but don't see any way to switch to use hdmi input
