Dialtone is okay but no phone service in or out

No dial tone after mandatory phone upgrade

The COX tech arrived promptly at 8:00 AM on August 14th. I had a limited time to spend as I had another appointment at 10:30 AM that same morning. My phone shows we have 2 new messages when we don't have any. Even if a new message occurs, it doesn't change. I have rebooted the phone, but it hasn't helped.

Caller ID and call directory seem to be working fine as well as the actual voice mail. It just doesn't post correctly on our phone, so we don't know when we have a new message without calling.

Has anyone ported vonage number to cox recently?

We are looking to switch back to cox phone from vonage and was looking for anyone who has done it lately to see how it went. I'm guessing it works the same way when porting a number that we would get a temporary cox phone number while the port is in process is that correct?
