Cannot access Phone Tools

Separate Phone and Internet Modems

I am planning to upgrade to Gigablast internet, which means I'd need to upgrade from my DPQ3212 modem to one with DOCSIS 3.1. However, I have a phone line and it is my understanding that if I am to buy my own modem, I'd still have to use the one provided by Cox for phone service, meaning I'd need 2

Phone goes mute during call - I can hear other person; they can't hear me

I can hear the other person but they can't hear me. This happens intermittently multiple times during a call on both incoming and outgoing calls. Call isn't disconnected and sometimes it will establish audio after 10 to 15 seconds; other times I have to hang up and redial. Cox has changed out modem;

I need to change phone options and need to talk to a person

Does anyone know how successfully contact a human being at Cox Communications? I keep trying various methods and so far I get thrown back to the same web page that goes absolutely nowhere. I need to change my phone on this plan. Thanks!
