why does Cox send service message via the cable boxes? the motorola IPG's have a message option in them.

I have an old modem that has a place for the phone jack/connection since I have a bundled service, including phone, from COX. I do not see that connection on the new DOC SIS 3.0 cable modem I have seen. What model has the right configuration?

I am proud to say that today I cut the cable. After being a loyal customer for over 4 years and having my bill double in that time period, enough is enough. I pay for cable and then sit through 20 minutes of commercials per hour. This is insanity at best. good riddance!
