Spectrum's Bait and Switch for Legacy COX Customers
At this link https://www.cox.com/residential/cox-is-now-spectrum.html , a page that is aimed soley at COX customers who are being transferred to Spectrum, it clearly says - TWICE - "at no extra cost."
But when you call Spectrum and ask if your current COX Contour TV tier (mine is the highest) is eligible, they say NO. You have to switch (i.e., UPGRADE) to a Spectrum tier. That would cost me an extra $22/month to get the "FREE" streaming apps.
They are playing word games with the ad because you have to have an EXISTING Spectrum tier in order to qualfy for the freebies.
That's great for EXISTING Spectrum customers, but what about legacy COX customers who had no choice in switching to Spectrum?
Why aren't our COX tiers grandfathered/made equivalent to Spectrum tiers? Especially if we are already at the highest tier available to us from COX?
They touted those "freebies" in our bills and other mailers as if they were gonna be something extra we get now by becoming a part of Spectrum.
That is false/misleading advertising as Spectrum knows that ZERO Cox customers have a qualifing Spectrum plan. There's no such thing!
Either add wording that says COX customers are not eligible with their existing plans and must pay extra to convert to a Spectrum plan OR take that ad off the page.
EDIT: The above information was told to me by the chat and on the phone. Apparently neither one knows what they are talking about.
I did go into the Spectrum app and it appears that the "free" streaming IS there. Kudos to the moderator here!

Hello. Legacy Cox customers can remain on their current video package, and automatically receive access to the Spectrum TV app. Certain TV packages will also receive access to Seamless Entertainment streaming apps such as Disney+, Paramount+ and Peacock at no additional cost. Please log into the Spectrum App by using your existing Cox account UserID. If you are having trouble accessing this, please reach out to us at https://www.facebook.com/Spectrum/ or on X with @Ask_Spectrum for assistance. Thank you
