System not finding receiver codes to pair

I recently exchanged my old Contour remote for a new one.  It paired for Voice Control and it paired for my TV.  However, when I try to pair with my receiver, all I get is "searching for codes" on the screen and nothing else happens.  Is there a way to manually find the code screen and enter the code?  Clearly my system is not capable of finding the Panasonic codes on it's own.  I called TWICE for tech support, but all I got were people who just kept walking me through the steps to unpair and repair the Voice and TV, which already worked
