Loud announcement regarding volume setting and/or mute

A couple of months ago, my wife accidentally touched some button (or buttons -- plural?) on the Cox/Contour TV remote control so that now, whenever one changes the volume up or down, a LOUD female voice announces "SPEAKER VOLUME IS SET TO ____."  If the TV has been set on "Mute," then when one turns off the Mute, the voice loudly announces "UNMUTED."

Hello. This sounds like the Voice Guidance, which is a feature for the visually impaired. I understand how that can be frustrating.

You can turn Voice Guidance On or Off using one of the following methods:

Quick Access from the Cox remote:

Press the B button to access the Accessibility Settings Menu.
Press the Down Arrow button to access the Voice Guidance On / Off window.
Use the right arrow and press OK to turn Voice Guidance On or Off.

    Using Voice Commands:

        Press the MIC button.
Say "Voice Guidance On" or "Voice Guidance Off".
Follow the Voice Guidance response "Press right arrow button and then OK to activate".

    Using the Settings Menu:

Press the CONTOUR button to access the Main Menu.
Use the arrow buttons to highlight the Settings gear icon, then press OK.
From the Settings menu, press the down arrow to highlight Accessibility Setting, then press OK.
From the Accessibility Setting, arrow down to highlight Voice Guidance, then press OK to turn the feature On or Off.

I hope this information is helpful. If there is anything else we can assist with, please let us know. Thank you!

-Julian
