How to Get a Pass Through of the Video Signal via the Cable Box

I have a Cisco/Technicolor Cox Cable box that I want the video to pass through to my TV (ie no processing of the video by the cable box). Through the menu, the choices are eg 480p, 720P, etc. Does any Cox cable box allow pass through of the video signal?

I don't know if it's possible with the new boxes, but try getting into the diagnostics:

Hold down the EXIT button for at least five seconds
Press the down arrow twice
Press the number 2
Look for "additional HDMI settings"
Check if "1080p passthrough" is enabled.

Should look something like below. Even if it looks different, look for similar settings.

No luck getting into the diagnostics or just that you didn't see the pass-through option? What model box do you have? See here for the different kinds and pictures. I think the method to get into the diagnostics is different for Contour boxes vs Cox TV boxes.

Also, why do you want passthrough? Like what are you trying to do or fix?

No luck getting into the diagnostics.  The box is a cisco/technicolor 4642hdc. I wanted to get a straight pass through of the signal because (I assume) my tv is much better at processing the signal raw, than what an old Cisco box can. Basically, the video of old tv shows is lousy.

I will check your link to try to get in.
