DVR Recordings

For the 3rd time in 7 months we lost all recordings.  The cloud was supposed to be way better - I say it is not.  I'll either go back to hard wired or change to Directv.  Cox has told me a couple times this never happens and we would get recordings back.  NOT TRUE

I will not engage Cox - every issue I contact them for just creates more problems and issue is never fixed.

Users have previously reported issues with Cloud DVR playback that indicate it's less reliable than a DVR with a local hard drive.  But this is the first I've heard that it may also replicate the long-time issue of lost recordings that has been reported for Contour with local hard drives.  I thought the whole reason for Cloud DVR is that no one would ever have to lose their recording again.  If Cloud DVR has playback issues AND loses recordings, why would anyone ever want it?  Was this an isolated issue or a systemic issue with Cloud DVR?

I don't have Cloud DVR.   I'm asking for Cox to be transparent about a reported issue that would be of interest to anyone who may be considering a change to that platform.
