Cox TV has a skipped channel option.  It doesn't remove channels, but they aren't listed in the guide or selected with the channel up/down keys.  They may only be selected by keying in the channel number.

Contour has a locked channel option.  You can lock a channel based on ratings, channels, titles and times.

1. Press Guide on your remote to pull up the Program Guide
2. Scroll to a channel you want to lock
3. Scroll left to highlight the logo and channel number, then press OK
4. Scroll right to highlight Lock, then press OK
5. Enter your four-digit Parental Controls PIN
6. Enter it one more time to confirm
