Can't find replacement for modem
I currently have a Cisco modem purchased from Cox years ago. It is no longer receiving updates and has been discontinued. This, I believe, is causing DVR functions such as rewind/ff to cause the Contour DVR to reboot. I tried to find another modem that still has a telephony jack on the back and not having any luck. Cox says I can rent a modem from them. My bill is already ridiculously high. Their response to that is my bill can be reduced if I sign up for mobile svc. No thanks. So now what can I do? I managed to find a couple of modems that have the phone jack, but they're not compatible w/Cox. It's like Cox makes it so I don't have a choice but to rent from them b/c they know modems no longer have the landline telephone jack, just the ethernet/LAN jacks. Can anyone recommend where I can purchase a modem that has the telephone jack? TY

bolla67, you can only use a Cox Telephone issued MTA device for Cox Telephone service. There is no rental fee for just the use of the Telephone modem. The rental fee comes with the use of a Cox internet modem or gateway device. But if you have your own internet modem, there would be no rental fee.
