The 5GHz internet

The 2.6GHz connection shows on the Wifi options and is connectable. The 5GHz network, however, doesn't even show up as an option to try to connect to. The router signal has been reset, along with the modem itself being reset. Neither of these made a difference in it showing up as a usable wifi access. So, I am wondering if there is a certain way to make it accessible or is it simply not working? Would like to be able to use that since it is a part of the services paid for.
