Storing payment information

Why am I now required to store my payment information on your site?  I do NOT want to store payment credentials on the easily hackable site.  For years I entered payment information at the time of payment, and now I am FORCED to store it?  No.  Return the option to enter at time of payment.

Hi CurrentCustomer,

I apologize for the inconvenience for having to remove stored methods. Alternatively, the Cox App currently does not save payment information, unless you check a box to do so. I will submit feedback regarding the change with the site. If you have any additional concerns, please feel free to email us at cox.help@cox.com

Thank you.

I am echoing the sentiment of the customer from 12/31/25. A few months ago I was able to select a one-time payment which is exactly what I want; however, now I MUST select my financial institution or enter a card. Neither are satisfactory options. The reconfiguration of your payment options is incredibly frustrating and encourages me to look elsewhere for service. If I wanted to store my financial information on your website I would have elected that option years ago, but I did not. I didn't see any advance notification of this change. Did Cox provide one? Cox needs to listen to consumers, after all we keep the company afloat, and improve services for consumers. One of those is to bring back the one-time payment option.

I haven't attempted to reach out to customer service in awhile and in my search for ways to 'contact us' today, this seemed the most viable option. Has customer service devolved to consumer messages on a forum for AI review and response??

Hello. I understand how you feel about saving payment information online. I don't like to save mine anywhere online either.  The Cox Community Forums are meant to be a place where customers can discuss topics related to Cox services. We know our customers have varied preferences with how they prefer to contact the companies they trust their business to. For account or service related support you can reach us by calling or chatting on https://www.cox.com/residential/contactus.html, on social media (Facebook, X, Instagram), or via email. Any of these contact methods will work. The Community Forums moderators are real people and are here to help when needed. -Colleen
