parental controls pause internet

We've now entered the phase of life where we need to set time limits on tech use for our tweens. I set all that up today via the app (assigned everyone's tech where it goes + applied time limits + "pause the internet" when those limits have been reached.

Cool, except after the allotted time / usage, while the app SHOWS my tweens' devices to now be paused until midnight, the fact is, the internet is still fully useable on them. What gives? From my app, it shows them grayed out / on pause. But my kids never knew they got "turned off" when they went past their time.

Hi there. We truly apologize for your trouble with the Wi-Fi app features. I'm here to help. Are the devices that are in use have cellular data capabilities or are they all just Wi-Fi only devices?

@AllisonL They are wifi only - no calls / data are connected to them.

Thank you BarrettFam5,

If you go into the tweens' device settings, are there other local or cellular networks saved and available for these devices to connect to? If so, can you delete or forget those saved networks and keep only your In-Home Cox saved, then check if this solves the issue?

No, there are definitely no other networks. Their devices are old burner phones that my husband and I no longer use. No sim card, no cell connection, no other wifi connections... I did just double check, but for sure the only connection they have access to is our Cox wifi

It's not just the phones, btw. Their chromebooks that I have assigned to them do not "pause" - whether their allotted time is used, or if I go in thru the Cox app and manually hit "pause" - nothing changes and their access continues
