Outages on or around 25th of every month with no notice, out for hours or days

Our internet has gone down regularly for the last year or so, always on or around the 25th of the month: March 25th, April 24th, June 24th 25th and 26th, Sept 21st, Oct 20th and now again Nov 24th, and it's still down after 12 hours of outage.

When I report these outages via phone line the message tells me that technicians have already been notified. However, starting on the June outage, Cox will change the outage to a "planned maintenance" or "planned outage" after a few hours. I'm up in the overnight hours and understand maintenance happen overnight, but these issues start long before there would be a planned outage. In June, it was 5:45PM when it went out, it was 7:30PM in October, and 8:30PM yesterday. Surely you're not doing planned maintenance in the early evenings, are you? And why wouldn't you tell people of a planned upcoming outage?

We've been with Cox since the 1990s, mostly because they had a monopoly in this area of town. As of this summer, there are two other companies that serve this area, and we only stayed with Cox because they offered a discount, but our internet has been down several times since then and chat help has been absolutely useless, often lying to me to say the internet isn't out and also they want me to buy more stuff from Cox. I'm barely even staying with you as it is, and you want me to buy more?!

What is even happening with you guys.

Hi, there. I know outages are frustrating and made more difficult without advance notice. We work diligently to limit the amount of downtime our customers experience. Our normal maintenance window is between midnight and 6AM. Advance notice is not always practical; however, we try to let customers know when a major issue or a network upgrade in their area will impact their service for more than one day. Email us this forum post at Cox.Help@cox.com with your physical address, full name and Cox PIN. We are glad to look at your account for you there and assist in any way we can. -Chris
