Map of Fiber to the Premises Areas?

I’ve been asking Cox to run fiber to my home (or at least give even the slightest indication of when I might be able to expect it) in San Diego North County

Given the lack of communication, it’d be great to see a map of where Cox FTTP is currently available. It’s really very 2010 to have a max upload of 100mbps, and I commonly max this out. Not to mention latency benefits.

Are they waiting on the Middle Mile Broadband network to progress further? Or is it really just “you’re stuck with old tech forever because we can charge you just as much and lobby to keep other providers out to retain our monopoly of the area”. I don’t want to be too cynical but this just seems the most likely answer given all the convos and data from years of being on Cox by default

Anyway, if anyone knows of a map or resource that specifics geos with areas of true Fiber internet from Cox, I’d be thrilled.

Hi there. Unfortunately, there is no real map that can be provided externally where fiber is laid. In the last few years, mature neighborhoods and areas that have Hybrid Fiber Coax have been pushed back to support newer neighborhoods and business infrastructures. Instead of laying coaxial cable, these areas start off with fiber. Unless the area or node is undergoing major issues with the coaxial lines that require upgrading, they are likely to stay coaxial for the foreseeable future. I apologize for the inconvenience. If you have any account-specific questions, please email Cox.Help@cox.com with your full name and complete address. We will be standing by for assistance.
