How to dumb down my TG 1682 to operate as a modem only so I can use my own router

I want the security that my own router has because it is better than the TG 1682. Please don't try to explain all the security features to me or why I want to do this I just need to know how to make it operate as a modem ONLY. Thanks in advance!
