email spam since switch to YAHOO
I used to NEVER get spam when Cox hosted their email servers. Since the switch to Yahoo, I am receiving many spam messages and newsletters I never subscribed to. Am I alone in this, or have others noticed it also? However Cox used to filter out the spam, it was very effective and it's too bad Yahoo seems to be sharing our cox email addresses with data brokers or simlar folks.

I don't recall ever receiving a spam email in my Yahoo Mail account.
Yahoo Mail filters aren't as flexible as Cox Webmail was. They don't provide a way to completely eliminate unwanted email, but you can route email from up to 500 senders to different folders. You could create filters to route spam from selected senders to a folder you create or to an existing folder such as "Trash" or "Spam". Then you can empty that folder periodically.

The only way to completely eliminate unwanted email from senders in Yahoo Mail is to click an "Unsubscribe" link within the email itself. However, since I've never had spam in my Yahoo Mail account, I've never used this option. I can't attest to what, if any, security is built into Yahoo Mail to protect against malware from clicking links.
