deleted emails

I received a notice that I exceeded the limit of my emails and that I could no longer receive new emails until the space with freed up. Due to an illness in our family, I was not able to keep up with my emails as I would have liked to.  I understand not receiving new emails but Cox deleted all of my existing emails.  Please let me know how to retrieve these. I have now freed up the space.
