Data usage

I noticed that I’m still being tracked on my daily usage, and also I’m warned when I get close to maxing it out each month. I had thought spectrum was unlimited. Do you have to change plans to get that or ask for that unlimited plan or have they just not changed it over yet? Also, I currently have the 250 megabyte speed plan and I’m wondering, isn’t there a lower one as I just retired and looking at still wanting Internet but not as much speed as needed. Thank you.

Hello. Yes, to receive the Spectrum unlimited data option, an update to your internet plan is needed. You can log into your account at cox.com to see the various options available. If you need a specialist to assist with the choices, please reach out to us at https://www.facebook.com/Spectrum/ or on X with @Ask_Spectrum for assistance so that we can get you connected to one. Thank you for your question and for being a valued customer.

There are various plans that you may qualify for. The best thing to do is to contact an Account Specialist via phone at 1-888-438-6673 between the hours of 8 am - 8 pm Monday through Friday or 9 am - 6 pm on Saturdays.

From your reply, it sounds like former Cox customers weren't automatically transitioned to a Spectrum plan with comparable speeds, but no data caps. Can data caps be avoided with an update to any Spectrum Internet plan?  Or do some Spectrum plans have data caps, and others don't?  Does the upgrade you mentioned specifically have to be to a Spectrum plan that doesn't have data caps?

Your current plan, pricing, billing, promotions, discounts, and contract terms remain the same for now. If changes occur later, we’ll give you advance notice so you can explore your options and make the best choice for you. You would need to contact an Account Specialist who will be able to advise you what plans may be offered and there is a data cap. Thanks, Lisa Cox Support Forums Moderator

I did an Internet search for: Spectrum home page

It took me to https://official.spectrum.com/sem/internet

It looks like an official Spectrum website and has various Internet plans.  All of them include the following feature:    No data caps, no contracts
