Data usage

I am on the 1gig plan and suddenly last month my usage quadrupled! And I went way over. Never before have I even come close. Nothing changed in my household- no new devices and just 2 adults. One of which works full time we don’t stream all day long and are not gamers. Support was absolutely no help and actually pretty downright rude about trying to figure out the problem. Can anyone help?

There are a lot of things that can cause data usage. Onedrive on a mobile device can do daily backups, Alexa or echo dots can get in a loop trying to send/receive what it thinks is someone talking to it, and it turns out to be the TV. Watching netflix on a 4k tv, if the show is in 4k can use up to 8gb an hour. If you work from home and use a vpn that can use data.
