After 1 year, what will our plan pricing be?

As a Cox Communications customer being routed to Spectrum without any say-so, I find myself being apprehensive about what's next.

Sure, the unlimited data will be great considering Cox has us restricted to limited bandwidth that doesn't cut it if we do lots of streaming. And, the $40 introductory pricing looks fantastic as well. But, what happens to the cost after that 1 year intro expires?

I have read stories of how Spectrum raises prices annually. There's doesn't seem to be any promised restrictions on increases.

I asked Cox representatives about the Spectrum plan pricing but they seem clueless. After a year, will I one day be slapped upside the head with sticker shock?

Where is the transparency? The $40 introductory rate will come and go quickly.

Let me put it this way. We elected Cox because it happens to be the only fiber provider offering service in our neighborhood. There are other providers with better pricing, but since the county decided who gets our patronage, we are out of luck. So, the question remains, what happens to our billing after year one? Inquiring minds and the neighborhood want to know.

Hello scurcio1,

As a Spectrum customer, you can look forward to the benefits of being part of one of the most expansive and reliable networks in the country. Our focus is on making the experience simple, flexible, and valuable for our customers. As we continue bringing the two companies together, we’ll share more about any new options and added value available to you.

Your current plan, pricing, billing, promotions, discounts, and contract terms remain the same for now. If changes occur later, we’ll give you advance notice so you can explore your options and make the best choice for you. We’ll make sure to keep you updated every step of the way through email, your account team, and other official communications, so you’ll always know what to expect.

Notification preferences can be manged online within My Account using these steps: https://www.cox.com/residential/support/changing-contact-information-and-notification-preferences-online.html.

I've heard all that already, thanks. What I want to know is our rates after the first year of service. My neighbors want to know as well. I have seen it quoted at $85 on a Spectrum plan similar to what I have now. I currently pay $56. That's one heck of an increase. Many of us live on fixed income (Social Security), where every penny counts. If it does turn out to be that cost, we will definitely be looking into T-Mobile or Amazon Leo.

scurcio1, We can only answer for the current status, not 12 months from now. Your current plan, pricing, billing, promotions, discounts, and contract terms remain the same for now. If changes should occur in the future, we will be transparent about the change and provide advance notifications.
