20+ hour outage, so far
Started receiving texts from Cox around noon yesterday, saying that the outage can be expected to be resolved by 3:44pm, then the estimate became 7:44pm, then 11:44pm, then between midnight and 6am. Now the status message states I might be experiencing intermittent interruptions.
an intermittent interruption would be an improvement over no connection at all. So, what’s the story? Some non-Cox person with a backhoe forget to call Miss Utility? A squirrel get fried exploring some of Cox’s equipment? Something out of Cox’s control entirely?
Do tell?

And now, not 5 minutes later, it’s back up. Ya’ll gremlins must be trolling me…

Hi Patrickshanna,
I'm sorry to hear your home is being affected by an outage. I was able to locate the outage affecting your home. The damaged 700 foot line has been replaced, and the fiber optic repair teams are in the process of splicing in the new line now. We hope to have the fully resolved very soon. I apologize, I don't see what caused the damage to the line. Unfortunately, it is not listed on the ticket. I just saw your new message. I'm glad to hear that service is returning now to your home.
