Unable to send email - Phoenix. AZ
For 4 days i have been getting a popup box "Cannot send messages using the server smtp.cox.net:_____ (my user name). The sender address was rejected by the server. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later".
I am able to receive emails but not send.
I am using a POP account on an iMac with Safari. Cox email has been consistently reliable until last November when i got a popup "The POP server rejected the password for user ___ (me). Please re-enter your password or hit cancel". Re-entering the password did not work. This server problem only affected incoming email; i could still send. The problem lasted for almost 2 months. Cox asked me to notify them at cox.help@cox.com and they fixed the problem.
Thanks to this forum, i realized that i was not alone. That is why i am posting this thread. Cox moderators, we appreciate your help but please don't respond to this thread. The problem is higher up the chain. You can't fix it.
When i have been contacted by Cox, they always want to know if i am also having webmail problems. I seldom use the webmail so i don't monitor it. 4 days ago when i started having the current problem, i tried to send using my webmail and it worked while the POP was struggling to send. But i only tried it once.
