So unhappy with more boxes
According to Cox, the mini box is supposed to be for customers whose televisions were connected directly to the cable. The reason those TVs were connected directly to the wall was to eliminate extra boxes, re-design the space without extra cables, change the TV mounts to be simple and clean.
They are no longer functional. Yes, I have the d@mn boxes, but cannot mount them with the TVs, the DC power supply is far oversized for the power requirement and will not fit in the space, the provided HDMI cables are straight connections, not angled so they cannot be connected to the panel, and even to use low resolution coax, the provided cable requires an extra 1-1/2" clearance on a wall mounted device.
The best option is to install power to my attic and put the box up there, but I will still need to replace the cables that the "service" provider included. Additionally, there is support for a remote IR pickup, which was also not included with the box, and there will be the added effort and expense associated with that.
And on top of that, my monthly television service bill is 2-3x the price they keep advertising in my mailbox.
Essentially, this company has rendered my state-of-the-industry, cable-ready signal receivers, unusable.
Thank you, Cox Cable, not so much.
