We have received feedback that some customers may be experiencing an issue recording content for the NBC 2012 Summer Olympics. The issue is due to limited DVR storage capacity and attempting to record the NBC Summer Olympics as a series.
Currently, the 2012 NBC Summer Olympics displays in the program guide as an extended block of time each day. For example, the program guide may have the 2012 Summer Olympics listed from 6 am to 10 pm (totaling 16 hours for that day). Based on your DVR settings and storage capacity, if you attempt to record the NBC 2012 Summer Olympics as a series and do not have enough space on your DVR, the recording could either fail, or record over stored content.
To assist you with this issue, we recommend recording Olympic events as follows:
- Set up a manual recording for a specific event by date and time. Do not record the Olympics as a series.
- To view event schedules, go to NBCOlympics.com, and click on Results & Schedules.
- Refer to Set up Manual DVR Recording.
- Record programs in Standard Definition. Recording shows in HD and 3D will use more data storage than Standard Definition.
