RE: How to deactivate wireless on the CG3000D-RG?
This Cox employee is flat-out lying about the operation of this cable modem. Disabling the SSID broadcast on this modem/router does NOT turn the wireless off. It just, surprisingly enough, disables the SSID broadcast. Your employee is lying repeatedly about something that could very easily lead to a customer leaving their modem in an insecure state. This employee needs to be educated and/or removed from his position.

Turning off the SSID function of this router doesn't hide the SSID like with other routers, it disabled the wifi broadcast. If you turn off the SSID feature you will not be able to connect to the router wirelessly even if the SSID name is known by the client.
