Motorola cable box issues

I just elected to have my cable turned back on and the cable box isn't working quite right. I have no menu or guide functions, several HD  channels do not come in, the info for each channel does not show up and the power button light goes off when I channel up or down. The only thing I can think of is return the box for another one. I've rebooted the box by unplugging and the service tech on the phone could not see my box signal. Any other recommendations before I return. It's about 20 miles from my home.
