Does Cox charge for content delivery?
I read this article and thought it was a good breakdown of the kind of issues that can happen between ISP and content providers like Netflix. My question is does Cox charge, or plan to charge, content providers for delivery content? The story seems oddly familiar to the issue between Cox and Youtube some months back. I'm pretty sure Cox is/was part of the Netflix Open Connect program but I wonder how they plan on proceeding going forward. I expect Cox to be quiet on this subject, but does anyone have any information they would like to share? What do you think the answer is? CDN's? Direct peering? Fast lane? Its a complicated subject but one I see as being very important to the future, both Cox's and the internet in general. Thoughts?
