Adaptive needs support for mini-box?

Many of my clients at our facility need adaptive equipment to watch TV, change channels, etc. We have accomplished a lot of this with special remotes and the like. None of them seem to work with the new mini boxes.

Specifically, Is there a way to program the channels so a visually impaired user can just channel up or down through their favorites without unwanted channels showing up at all? OR a way to get channels to announce themselves out loud? OR a voice-activated remote that the user can just tell 'channel up' that would work with this system?
