Email Error when sending
I started getting a weird error today when I attempt to send an email.
Server error: 550 5.1.1 relaying not allowed. I also can not get my email to send at all on my new android phone, can receive though. Had to set up gmail to be able to send. Whats going on with Cox email all of a sudden.

Please check your outgoing mail server and make sure the port number is set to 465 with the SSL box is checked. Port number 25 for outgoing mail is not secure, so we aren't using it anymore.

Hi, I did check and set the server and port settings a month or so ago when you sent out the email advising us to do so. I did check those settings before making this post and they are still correct. I just attempted to reply to an email and am still getting the same error. I also can not get my android phones to connect to the server to send. Don't know what you have changed lately but it is messing up a lot of folks email.

Still having issues with Cox email I can not reply or forward an email. This has been going on a month now and is totally ridiculous considering the amount of money I pay cox each month. They are not even responding anymore. Hey Cox, what does it take to get something done to fix this, I need to be able to replay and forward emails.

Are you getting an error when sending and forwarding from myemail.cox.net or when sending from Cox webmail?

Please send an email to: cox.help@cox.com and include the username that you're having trouble sending email with. It's important that that username is in active status. I can check it for you or you can check it on our website by logging in with the primary username and password. Please add a reference to this forums post if you go ahead with an email.

I sent a test email to our account and it was sent and received without any errors. Are you sending the email to more than just us? If so, please try sending to only us first to verify the outcome.

Just tried again and got it back again with the same error, only sending it to cox.help@cox.com which is the link you put in your emails to me. I have had cox email for years, you can see by my account with you and never had issues until this last update that cox did and it appears I am not the only one with issues.

Please paste the error message in its entirety. There should be some additional information after what you've shared so far.

Are you using your home Internet connection when you try to send these? Can you try signing into webmail and see if you can send there?
